Our Meat
Is your meat fresh or frozen?
All our meat products are flash-frozen and sealed for freshness.
Do you ever use antibiotics?
We do not routinely use antibiotics on our farm. We work closely with our vet, and only treat our animals with antibiotics when necessary. If we have a sick animal, it is treated individually and removed from the herd. We also observe strict withdrawal periods to ensure that our meat does not contain any traces of antibiotics.
Do you use growth hormones?
We never use growth hormones on our farm.
Is your meat USDA-inspected?
All our meat is USDA-inspected, and is processed at a local USDA-inspected slaughter facility.
Is your meat 100% grass fed?
At present, we do not offer 100% grass-fed beef. While grass (in the form of haylage) forms a core part of our cows' diet, we also feed our cows a number of other nutrients and minerals. This is because our cows also form part of our dairy herd, so they have additional nutritional requirements.
How should I store my meat?
To maintain the quality and integrity of the products, we recommend that you immediately refrigerate all perishable products upon collection or delivery (as applicable), and that you follow the USDA's instructions on refrigeration and food safety, which can be found here.
How should I cook my meat?
We recommend that you follow all cooking instructions (as displayed on the product packaging), and that you use a food thermometer to ensure that all meat, poultry, seafood and other applicable items are cooked to the USDA's recommended internal temperatures, which can be found here. Failure to follow safe handling practices and temperature recommendations may increase the risk of foodborne illness. In addition, pregnant women, young children, the elderly, and individuals with compromise immune systems should follow the FDA's recommendations on food consumption for at-risk groups, which can be found here.
